Dixie Lee Brown concludes her thrilling Trust No One series with the fast-paced tale of a damaged hero and the sexy fugitive he can’t help falling for.

Samantha “Mac” McCallister barely believes her own tale of dirty cops and murder that landed her in the hands of the sexy Jim Brady. One minute she was enjoying a ride-along in her best friend’s cruiser, the next he’s dead and she’s wanted for his murder. Mac never expected to be hiding out from the law, but with Jim by her side, maybe she can survive long enough to clear her name. The question is, can she survive the way Jim makes her feel?

Former Navy Seal Jim Brady works best under pressure. At least he used to. Now, fighting flashbacks from his time in Iraq, he has given up everything he knows in order to protect the innocent … from himself. So working with a woman on the run from the law? Not in his plans for this lifetime. Still, something about the blue-eyed beauty tells him she’s not the source of the danger—she’s running from it. Deep down he knows he’ll protect her no matter what. But his heart? That’s another story.

My Review

Thanks to Dixie Lee Brown, Tasty Book Tours and Edelweiss for providing the opportunity to read and review this amazing story. I have been hooked on the Trust No One series for a while now and I was hooked with this one as well.   My deepest apologies to Ms. Brown and Tasty Book Tours for not having the review ready for the tour.  This book hit so close that I was struggling to figure out how to write the review.  I am still not sure that I can do a review justice, but I am going to try.
Right from the first chapter I was drawn in and didn’t want to put it down.  There was something about Mac that I connected with and I loved her courage after witnessing Paddy’s, her best friend, death.  Then she begins the hell that she goes through after Paddy’s death.   When she met Brady, let me tell you, I laughed out loud and was looking forward to reading the remainder of what occurred between those two.
Jim Brady, former Navy SEAL, is dealing with his own demons and wasn’t expected to find what he runs into Mac.  Brady reminds me of someone that I have become very close with over the last few months and it made the connection to this book even better.   Brady is worried that his PTSD will cause him to have flashbacks and hurt someone so he pushed himself out of his family’s life.  What he doesn’t expect to find is Mac.
I love the way these characters were able to work through the issues that occurred throughout this story.  There were barriers that Mac and Brady had to work through and if a couple truly wants to get through things, they will work through them.
I have to be honest and say that this one was my favorite by far and I loved the others.  It was great catching up with the characters from this series.  I am sad that it is ending though.
