REVIEW: Without Me (Men of Inked #7) by Chelle Bliss
April 20, 2015
THE LAST MEN OF INKED BOOK IS NOW AVAILABLE!
I’d led a selfish existence.
I liked who I was. Hell, I loved myself.
Women threw themselves at me and I took what they offered without remorse. I promised them nothing.
I sank my teeth into life, holding on to the bitch like my very existence depended on it.
Women came and went.
The second I let my guard down and released the hold I had on life… What was my award for such carelessness?
A love so spectacular and heart wrenching that it threw me for a loop. When I was in too deep to escape, my greatest fears became reality.
I never thought I would say those words, I seriously love Thomas. Then Anthony came along. I will admit, from the little that we did know of him, I wasn’t his biggest fan. But after reading his story, it all makes perfect sense now.
Anthony- Oh, he’s cocky. And he loves women, just doesn’t want to date them. He’s upfront and honest, doesn’t hide the fact that he’s not relationship material. It’s an arrangement that has been working out for him for years, why change now.
Max- I love that woman. She’s sassy, snarky, and gives Anthony a run for his money. She too, doesn’t do relationships. Just not in the cards for her. Better to keep men at a distance. After all it’s been working out this long, right?
If there were ever 2 more hard headed people in this series, I sure haven’t met them. I swear these two drew their lines in the sand and would not budge for anything. When love hit, it hit hard. It dropped these two terrified people to their knees. I loved that these two stayed true to themselves. They didn’t change because of someone. They remain stubborn, cocky, snarky and everything that we came to love about the characters.
Fear is a powerful emotion, It drives us to do things that we convince in our heads, is the right thing to do. We build walls to keep people at a distance and tell ourselves it is so we don’t hurt them, while we are the most afraid of being hurt ourselves. This book portrayed fear in one of the most real ways possible. It also showed what happens when we start letting people in, or, they push their way in, in the case of Anthony. This doesn’t mean that everything is perfection for these two. It just means that sometimes, getting out of your own head isn’t such a bad thing.
This book is my favorite of the series for so many reasons. It shows struggles that are at the forefront of today’s society and deals with them in the way only Chelle Bliss can. Snarky humor and real talk. Uncle Earl…OMG, he is a riot! It also encompasses the love that these Gallos have for their family and the women that they fall in love with. They have dealt with so many issues and the main theme throughout the books is, family. I’m just glad that we haven’t seen the last of them. They truly are one of the all time best book families.
This book gets a must deserved 5 kisses from this humble blogger. I wish I could give more. I won’t say goodbye, but I will say Fino a quando si vede di nuovo
