A Fitz Series
When the latest string of murders, sweeping New York City, lands on Detective Fitzgerald S. Rodriguez’s desk, the signature evidence hits too close to home. Being unable to stop the murder of
his own mother has made Fitz a jaded man. Now he will stop at nothing to protect the one he loves.
Serial killer, Mark Chambers, is like a cat that preys on unsuspecting mice for sport. When a fresh kill no longer quenches his sexual appetite, he sets his sights on Makenna Justice. The fiery-redhead, with her emerald green eyes, ignites a fire in him that he hasn’t had since his first kill.
Time is of the essence for all three of them.
Mark must feed into his desires once more without leaving a

And Makenna?—She just has to stay alive.

Women make it so easy for me. They think I’m broken and want to fix me. I let them try, but I’m not broken, so there is no fix for me. I have a need that only they can fill. I need to feel my hands around their throat, feel their bodies come to life with every smack on their ass. Every gasping breath makes my cock harder. If I close my eyes, I can feel each pulse of my blood surging forward. Women see me as the bad boy. The boy that needs to be rescued. They are the ones that need to be rescued—rescued from me. This one tonight is no different. New York, just another city filled with desperate women. It never ceases to amaze me how women are so nurturing. I’m beyond redemption, beyond repair and that suits me just fine.
My Review
Every now and then I feel the need to go back to my roots. The genre that captured my attention from the beginning and started my love for reading…romantic suspense.  And this one hit the spot!
Right from the beginning we are drawn in to the world of a serial killer on the hunt for his next victim…Makenna.  Leaving his calling card of a white rose, he sends Fitz on a hunt that will hit a little too close to home for him.
I wasn’t sold on Fitz at first. He seemed a bit aloof, closed off, but when I found out why he was like that, I had a better understanding of his character. Makenna I loved from the beginning. She’s feisty with an independent streak that would sometimes just like to have someone else take charge for a change.  Fiercely loyal to her family, she would do anything for them, especially her brother Andy. Who I adored.  He had to be my favorite secondary character, next to their mother. Who else can Catholic guilt their bodyguard in to bingo but an Irish Catholic?
The story kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next.  The bdsm elements gave it an edge that I absolutely loved.
Even though the story is fast paced, the characters were complex and the storyline well developed. This is one that you will not want to put down.  If you are a fan of Lisa Jackson, or Lisa Gardner, you need to add this book to your collection.
5 suspenseful kisses
