Review: Snowflake Wishes by Maggie McGinnis

snowflake wishessassysynopsis4

Noah Drake was that guy–the one always on the lookout for his next adrenaline high, so it was no surprise when he took off across the world, seeking adventure as a travel writer. But one thing he could never escape was Piper Bellini, the girl who got away–the girl he letget away, a fact he’s never let himself forget. When he returns to Echo Lake to see if there’s any chance the flame between them can be rekindled, he never expects to spend the night holed up with Piper in a roadside diner while a blizzard rages outside. It’s exactly the kind of situation that sent Piper running years ago. But this time, Noah may have been handed a Christmas miracle, and he intends to make all of his and Piper’s wishes come true…

MaggieMcGinnis_AuthorPhoto2Maggie started writing when her twins were infants and she was desperately seeking sanity. The fact that she found it only with imaginary people makes her a bit concerned, but at least they do what she tells them to … usually.

She lives in New England, though she spends an inordinate amount of time on Arizona real estate sites in mid-January. While snow piles up to her windowsills, she cyber-stalks the blue skies and pink houses of the Southwest.

She used to be an English teacher, a certified black belt, and a cool-car driver. Then … twins. Now she swills caffeine while driving the one vehicle she swore she’d never own: a minivan. It sort of hurts even to admit it.

Her debut novel, a cozy mystery, was a Golden Heart® finalist, and her debut romance, Accidental Cowgirl, is a USA Today® bestseller! The second and third books in her Whisper Creek series, A Cowboy’s Christmas Promise and Once Upon a Cowboy are also now available. Three more books in the series will arrive in 2016 and 2017!

Whisper Creek

Her new series with St. Martin’s Press is hitting the actual AND virtual shelves right now! A prequel novella, Snowflake Wishes, was released in October in digital format. The first full-length novel, Forever This Time, will be available on November 3rd, and the second and third books in the series will be out in 2016.

Echo Lake

Maggie is thoroughly grateful to her wonderful agent, her amazing teams at Random House and St. Martin’s, her readers, and her fabulous writer-gal friends for making this journey so much fun!

She’s just hoping that one of these days, her family will understand …

As always my thanks goes first to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for providing us with a copy of this book so that we could bring you this review.

We all know how much I love second chance love stories and this is one of the sweetest ones I have come cross in a while. Though Noah is an adrenaline junkie the fact that once he finds out why Piper is so weary about his way of living life, he finds ways to still get the rush he craves without worrying her. This really was a great sit by the fire on a lazy winter night to read as you watch the christmas tree glow with its lights.  I have to say that I am definitely going to be looking into reading the other books in this series because I just loved the dynamic of Echo Lake and what can happen in that little town.

I give this book 4 snowy kisses…

Happy Reading… Adri
