Review: When We Fall by Marquita Valentine

when we fallsassysynopsis4

The last time Piper Ross saw her best friend’s sexy older brother, Jase Simmons, he was being taken away in handcuffs. Seven years later, two things haven’t changed: Piper is still head-over-heels in love with him . . . and Forrestville’s chief of police—Piper’s dad—still hates his guts. So when Piper sees a chance to get close to Jase, she makes her move—literally. As his new roommate, and as the office manager of his tattoo shop, Piper won’t be satisfied until Jase knows that she wants to be his.

The quintessential good girl, Piper is pure temptation for Jase. The only reason he’s always kept his distance is because she’s the last person he’d ever want to hurt. But once he realizes that Piper is ready to take the leap, everything just makes sense. Suddenly Jase feels like a new man—until nasty rumors start swirling and Piper’s heartless father stirs up even more trouble. Now Jase must convince Piper that she wasn’t wrong about him . . . because falling in love never felt so right.

As well all know I need to first thank Random House Loveswept and NetGalley for providing us with a copy of this book so that we could bring you this review.

See I know that I would love Piper and Jase’s book since I was introduced to them in the first book of the Take the Fall series. The fact that Piper has always wanted to be the one there for Jase, she has had feelings for him since she first met him. She always wanted him to see her as something more than just his little sisters best friend. And Jase has fought his feelings for Piper because he was working hard on not bringing her down to what he thought was his level. But had always desired her. This book also has a point that shows you that we always hurt the ones that we love the most. Jase at times forgets himself and says things that can be hurtful to Piper, but seeing the inner workings of his mind also shows that those words hurt him just as much. I love what Piper has decided to do with her life and I also love the fact that even when she wasn’t looking Jase was protecting her. He was so afraid to let himself love her and be with her because he was so scared to being sent away, but she stands up not only for herself with her parents but for him as well. I loved the way that this book ended and look forward to more from this series… I am also dying for more from Seth and Rowan…

I give his book 4 rumbling kisses…

Happy Reading… Adri
