After being left at the altar, Jade Roberts seeks solace at her best friend’s ranch on the Colorado western slope. Her humiliation still ripe, she doesn’t expect to be attracted to her friend’s reticent brother, but when the gorgeous cowboy kisses her, all bets are off.
Talon Steel is broken. Having never fully healed from a horrific childhood trauma, he simply exists, taking from women what is offered and giving nothing in return…until Jade Roberts catapults into his life. She is beautiful, sweet, and giving, and his desire for her becomes a craving he fears he’ll never be able to satisfy.
Passion sizzles between the two lovers…but long-buried secrets haunt them both and may eventually tear them apart.
Having only ever read Helen’s Sex in the Season series, I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one. I knew it certainly wasn’t historical and when I read it was on the darker side, well, I jumped both feet in.
I loved that Helen keeps you guessing the whole way through the book until the very end. What was already a strong story with Jade and Talon was intensified with one of the best cliff hangers I have ever read. I think authors sit up at night and ponder over just how to torture their readers, because this one killed me.
Talon is broken. That much we are sure of. We get glimpses in to his past but never the whole story. You can pretty much piece it together and when you do it will break your heart.
What I liked about Jade was that she wasn’t a damsel in distress. Being left at the alter kind of lit a fire under her and she started her life fresh. I loved that she called Talon out when he was being a jerk, and then knew just when to show him what love was.
Underneath this beautiful love story lies something sinister. Something dark. And something that I need to know, like yesterday. Craving was the perfect title for this book because it will leave you craving more. More Talon. More Jade. More Steel brothers, and more of the mystery that involves them all.
I give Craving 5 kisses
