Navy SEAL Clay Pickett needs a wife, fast, or he’ll lose the model sustainable community he and his friends came home to Chance Creek to build. He’s got just the woman for the job in mind: sexy, sensitive Nora Ridgeway. Too bad she’s not interested in rushing to the altar.
When Nora leaves her job as a school teacher to open a Jane Austen Bed and Breakfast with her friends—and finally get a chance to write her novel—she’s relieved to escape the escalating threats of violence from an unknown student stalker, and more than a little interested in the Navy SEAL who’s after her heart. But when trouble starts stalking her at Chance Creek, Nora begins to wonder if she’s left her past behind after all.
Can Clay and Nora find a way to be together when everything is trying to tear them apart?
Cora Seton loves cowboys, country life, gardening, bike-riding, and lazing around with a good book. Mother of four, wife to a computer programmer/eco-farmer, she lives in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia and never met an old house she didn’t want to rescue and renovate.
I want to thank Cora Seton for providing us with a copy of this book so that we could bring you this review.
Well now I wish I had read the first book in this series… haha… I know that is an interesting way to start a review. But the truth of it is that the premise is so interesting that I think knowing a bit of the beginning of this series would help me understand it better. It would help me see what it has happen prior to this book and the struggles everyone dealt with. Also how it is that this little town within Chance Creek came to be. Though we do get some insight on it during this book, Im sure I would have understood it better if I’d read A SEALs Oath.
Now Im sure you want to hear more about Nora and Clay and my thoughts on their story. I love the fact that Nora finds herself and where she belongs in the scheme of things during this book. I also love the fact that all the women are so set and dedicated to the cause that they came to Montana to fulfill. I also like that Clay and the other men also came with a purpose and the purpose of that being to improve the world and how we consume resources. I don’t know how I feel about the reality show, but then again I guess I can commiserate with the women on that one. My heart breaks for how things go for Nora for a while, she is made to feel like she is crazy or losing it by her stalker. The way he plays games with her is hard to read at times, and made me want to protect her as much as Clay does. Now let me talk about Clay for a little bit and that heart that is so big he knows right away exactly what he wants from the minute he meets Nora. There are things that happen during this book that I don’t want to give away but they had me crying with the knowledge that things were so rough. It’s such a wonderfully written book and I can’t wait to read the other books in this series.
I give this book 5 regal kisses…
Happy reading… Adri
