The Merriest Magnolia by Michelle Major Review

Book 2

Carrie Reed has always been known as her hometown Good Girl, yet she still loves Magnolia, North Carolina—after all, this is where her newly discovered sisters, Avery and Meredith, live. But Christmas is on its way and with it, her first love. Dylan Scott is back in town and planning on changing everything she’s ever loved about Magnolia with his real estate development project…but not without a fight.

Returning to Magnolia was never in Dylan’s plans—it holds too many reminders that he would never be good enough, and memories of the girl he left behind. But when a tragedy leaves him guardian of a grieving teenager, Dylan returns, ready to remake the town into something only money can buy, small-town traditions be damned. But with Carrie determined to stop him, he finds himself wondering if redeeming his teenage reputation is worth losing out on his second chance at love.

Also in the series: Book 1

An inheritance brought her to Magnolia, but love just might keep her there…

Avery Keller arrives in Magnolia, North Carolina, with one aim: collect her inheritance and quickly put the quirky town in her rearview mirror. But the father who didn’t acknowledge her when he was alive has left Avery a mess to sort through—along with two half sisters she’s never met and a gorgeous single dad living next door. Soon her plan to keep this colorful, close-knit community at a distance gets complicated….

Grayson Atwell has rescued plenty of people in his firefighting career. His work and his little girl, Violet, are his entire world and there’s no time for anything—or anyone—else. But the vulnerability beneath Avery’s prickly facade brings out a fiercely protective side of him. Despite her protests, Gray can see that Avery’s falling under Magnolia’s spell—just like he’s falling for her. Now the only question is: How can he convince her to give them both a chance at forever?

I would like to take a moment to thank Kaye Publicity for providing us with a copy of both of these books so we can bring you this review.

So the publicity company sent me both books to read, but the review will be for book 2. Though I will say you don’t want to miss taking the chance of reading Avery and Gray’s book, because there were some awesome moments of Violet and Avery in that book.

For those of you who have been following us for a while you know that I love second chance loves, but add that they are enemies to lovers as well just adds icing to this very delicious Christmas cake. The past that Carrie and Dylan share is a sad one, as things weren’t easy for them when they were first together. It was funny to see how when Dylan came back to Magnolia how much Carrie disliked him and how she was hell bent on making his life miserable but slowly things changed. Slowly they work together on special projects and find what they had once before. My heart broke for Sam and what he’d been through, but it was great to see how being in Magnolia had helped him grow and change. But like all great books things work out wonderfully and this was the perfect book to read as we approach the Christmas season.

I love how much energy and power the side characters bring to these books. There are times where I think I liked the side characters more than the main hero of the book. Same thing happened to me while I read the first book in the series. This shows to me the amazing diversity of Michelle Major and her amazing writing style. I can’t wait for the third sisters book to see what happens next in this wonderful little town.

I give this book 5 wonderful sweet Christmas kisses.

Happy Reading… Adri
